"Looks good, but does not function"

    May 25, 2006  |   By playsw

Version: Acronis True Image 2014 9

    Pros

    Easy menu and usability

    Cons

Disk clone to a new hard drive and restore from hard drive backup to a new drive gave me the same error. I had never been able to past the booting phase with the cloned hard drive. A blue screen showed a serious hard drive failure even though I check the hard drive which functions well.

    "It's a high quality product"

    May 19, 2006  |   By Cappriccios

Version: Acronis True Image 2014 9

    Pros

I wanted to say how impressed I am with Acronis TrueImage product. I have been struggling with Ghost for a few years now and decided to try True Image last week. It has been an outstanding success. Easy to install and easy use for backup and restore. As I said, I used Ghost, but my friend advised me to try Acronis. It turned out, that this program creates backups faster and it has more convenient nterface.

I don't often write "testimonials" but I felt I had to let you know how great I think this product is.

    Cons

Wanted to write that True Image does not support direct DVD-writing, but have noticed on their site that a new update fixed this inconvenience. However, I have not tried it yet.

    "My choice!"

    May 12, 2006  |   By Lunkaz

Version: Acronis True Image 2014 9

    Pros

Several days ago my hard drive went bad and was about to die. I borrowed a bootable CD with Acronis from my friend. He said it was very good and reliable software.

I imaged my system and the next day, the drive crashed. I plugged in a new hard drive and recovered the image. The whole process took about 20 minutes and voila! I have my system exactly as before! It was hard to believe that this could be so easy.

I had never used any backup software and was afraid that it would be difficult to deal with it. But Acronis is very simple. I bought the copy today for my personal use and decided to drop this comment.

    "Way to go Acronis!"

    May 12, 2006  |   By Lapare

Version: Acronis True Image 2014 9

    Pros

Well, I might be lucky, but I have never had any frustrating experience with Acronis True Image 9.0: neither a crash, nor a glitch. I use this program to make a full image of my HDD and backups of separate partitions with OS and apps. It's cheaper and works faster then Ghost. If you want to make a simple backup it has the highest level compression.

It's also a wonderful solution if you need a disk to disk backup. True Image almost automatically transfers everything from one drive to another.

I hold in high respect this software. It saved me much trouble. I didn't have to reinstall Windows with all my apps!

    "Can't Install"

    May 3, 2006  |   By Chrisrjcox

Version: Acronis True Image 2014 9

    Cons

As others have said. The install requires an internet connection to register...register a trial version? Anyway I have a internet connection, but it still fails with a message, "Faild try again later"

"True Image-The Bloody thing really works!"

    April 28, 2006  |   By Asknet

Version: Acronis True Image 2014 9

    Pros

It is so refreshing to find a product that works as it was intended and THEN SOME!

I've used True Image to back up files and it's done an exclellent job.

When I wanted to put a larger hard drive into my notebook, I was curious if the True Image Clone function would pass the Microsoft Software Validation test when Microsoft compares their Windows installation with the computer's internal config.

Well, I formatted and cloned my outboard drive. Then I installed the outboard drive into my notebook.

Gadzooks! It booted up just fine and recognized the new drive with all of my old data on it.

This entire process took about an hour and 1/2 with an hour being spent doing the automated cloning.

    Hats off to Acronis!

    "Registration requires internet connection"

    April 24, 2006  |   By dmammone

Version: Acronis True Image 2014 9

    Pros

    Was not able to register.

    Cons

Online registration required! Very difficult to do when the PC that you want to use it on is isolated from internet access.

"Works perfectly, 100 times better than manually reloading my system!"

    April 14, 2006  |   By YORELJM

Version: Acronis True Image 2014 9

    Pros

    + very easy to use.

+ quickly creates and restores backups that work.

+ you can open the backup file and copy files and stuff!

+ you can save backup in the "secure zone" on your hard drive as well as on CD, DVD, etc.

    + lots of options

+ if your hard drive crashes and you are restoring it, there is an option that allows you to start using the computer even before the recovery is complete...very cool. of course, since the recovery only take a few minutes, you could just wait till its finish.

    Cons

-If you do not make the "secure zone" large enough, it may delete previous backups to store a new one. This can be bad if deletes a complete backup to store an incrimental backup (which is useless by its self). Increasing the size is actually VERY easy.

-I don't really like the messages that it gives when it finishes something, for example, when i use the option the check the integrety of a backup, all it says is that it completed the operation successfully (I would rather see "your backups are fine")

    "Acronis is really perfect!"

    April 7, 2006  |   By Thynder

Version: Acronis True Image 2014 9

    Pros

I would like to express my gratefulness to Acronis. All the feedback on the download sites saying that Acronis company is excellent on service and feedback is obviously true to me.

I can ensure anyone that all answers from Acronis Support Team have been most helpful, and I will definitely seek for other Acronis products, and, recommend them to my friends. Unfortunately, the computer vendors seem to not value giving onlilne feedback to customers without charging very expensive charges.

    Cons

    I have never noticed any.

    Pros

Let me boast of the best utility product that is installed on my PC: True Image.

After many years of using a great variety of software - much to often with

bad experience - it is truly motivating to see that there are people out
