"Very simple check on the weather"
Version: AccuWeather.com Stratus widget 1.0
Pros
Can set for almost anywhere in the world. Shows current temperature, day or night conditions, degrees F or C, forecast for 5 days & other options. Transluscent on your desktop, until you hover youre mouse over it. Drag & position wherever you want.
Cons
Puts an annoying logo in your system tray. There's also an obtrusive logo under the onscreen display. The days on the 5 day forecast could show clearer. If you prefer the 5 day forecast you lose it when you log off, & must reselect it again.
Summary
On balance, I found some of its features rather irksome, particularly having to reset it to how I wanted it every time I logged on. I did not like seeing the logo in my tray all the time, & the name under the widget could be more subtlle. I also found its accuracy doubtful - of course, it could only be as good as the information received from meteorological stations, but nevertheless its forecast for the next couple of days was at variance with the one I saw on tv.
