"Unfinished product, trial only does 3 pages at a time"

    November 2, 2005  |   By ChasmUser

    Version: Able2Extract 3.0

    Pros

The product was very simple and I didn't encounter many flaws.

    Cons

When opening the PDF, the image on the screen was distorted (top inch of document was shifted left). The conversion only works on three pages at a time so I couldn't fully evaluate how it would handle the conversion of a large complex document. The UI finish is rough.

"trial period limitations are not mentioned"

    October 23, 2005  |   By fastercnet

    Version: Able2Extract 3.0

    Pros

    none

    Cons

ALL trial period limitations should be shown before the download. The output of this program is corrupted on purpose ... I wasted half an hour installing (and uninstalling) this product.

    "fantastic"

    May 18, 2005  |   By squidchan

    Version: Able2Extract 2.2

    Pros

great user interface. images intact. converts easily and quickly. preserves form and text.

    Cons

expensive. the 30 day license is good but too short. for a home user who just wants a program to edit worksheets so they are suitable for use in the classroom it is not worth the money.

    "Works Like a Charm"

    April 21, 2005  |   By Ecuador Miss

    Version: Able2Extract 2.2

    Pros

This software delivers. I think the PDF to Excel conversion is the only one I have seen. It works good

    Cons

Trial could have been longer but it didn't matter - I licensed it...

"This is crippleware. Find another product."

    April 5, 2005  |   By Arasan

    Version: Able2Extract 2.2

    Pros

It's powerful and handles 3 formats.

    Cons

This software comes with a stingy 3-day trial period. It's also useless during the trial period, because it purposely screws up something like every eighth cell when performing a conversion.

    Don't bother.

"Only program I've found for PDF to EXCEL"

    November 22, 2004  |   By sienna3178

    Version: Able2Extract 2.2

    Summary

After spending a great deal of time trying to convert multi-page PDF documents into EXCEL by using "middle-man" converters that got me as far as a text document, this program converted a detailed PDF
"image" of a database into an EXCEL spreadsheet. Within minutes I had all the data in a worksheet that I could edit, sort, format and finally use. It required some minor tweaks and two PDF columns had converted into one EXCEL column because they were so close together - But total of 30 - 45 minutes to have fully functional "prettied-up" Excel worksheet. WONDERFUL! Also, great tips provided, easy to use, and having 30 day trial of full version for $19.95 is good - can renew in increments of 30 days or buy full program.

    "Great idea - nearly delivers..."

    September 23, 2004  |

    Version: Able2Extract 2.2

    Summary

We really needed a product that translated tables in PDF into Excel files. This one seemed to be perfect. Until we tried it out. Numbers in columns translate perfectly, but the headers - especially merged cells - are all messed up. Not nice to find out when you are on a deadline.
