I've been trying to fix my laptop since last November (7 Months?)after HORRID AVG 2013 Tune-UP Lured me; NOT ONLY HAS IT DESTROYED RESTORES,Screwed up system,it DESTROYED MY LAPTOP to the point where I can ONLY use SafeMode past months, Cannot afford new laptop! I've tried EVERY Fix imaginable Including ReInstall Windows, in desperation--I reformatted Hard drive & reload--RATHER Attempt reload Windows but Biggest problem AVG TuneUP caused is My Laptop Shuts Off every time I try to use Win Normal--cannot install in SafeMode. ALSO NOTE: EVEN IF YOU UNINSTALL AVG TUNE-UP ***IT STILL EXISTS**** B/C IT WILL POPUP &TELL YOU! -after almost every reboot-says your machine is running better b/c Tuneup just gave you YET ANOTHER TuneUp!!! -it's like the EVIL that cannot be killed!!! * * * * * And, WHY??, I beg CNET EDITORS- with 1,000's of same complaints all over Net re SERIOUS, PERMANENT DAMAGE to COMPUTERS, Why are you Silent?? I am begging anyone who has figured out a way to fix their computer aside from reinstalling windows (already did) please let me know if you have solved this Specific Problem: it turns off my Hard drive every time I try to go into "Normal" Windows mode -- I can only use Safe Mode w/networking ever since AVG Tune-up and it's beginning to cripple me as well. (already went thru Diag mode of disabling all services and startup progs but still shuts off Hard Dr in Normal Windows--No problems in SafeMode at all) * * * * * Thank you all for listening * * * * * * and please pass the word thru EVERY VENUE you can think of-
--Permanently destroying thousands of people's expensive machines and then responding with excuses is NOT acceptable!!!!! It finds more errors than Win utilitys 10.61 pro, Registry Easy, Ccleaner, PC Prefomer, Jet clean and Reg clean pro. Also, there is a unstaller, start-up fixer, problem fixer optimizer and TONS MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS THE BEST EVER!!!!

I say that this is THE BEST EVER! One reason is that with the trail you can get rid of all the errors that slow your computer down and fix it. Then the computer is MORE THAN 5X FASTER!!!!And if you like it, you can buy it for 40 bucks. Even thou it is expenive, IT IS TOTALY WORTH IT because it has a 1-click maintenance that does EVERYTHING in ONE CLICK!!!!!!!!!!!(clean and defrag reg, clean history, defrag disk and TONS more all in 5-30 mins.) Also, there are different modes for it so the cleaner can clean fast while you are gone and go slow while you are using it. And with the start-up and shut-down optimizer your computer can wake-up and sleep (start-up and Shut-down) faster! Next, There is the hard drive fixer that cleans your hard drive(s) and other stuff. You can also delete old back-ups that you don't use any more. Then, there is the program unstaller/disabler that unstalls/disbles any program that you don't use. Next we have the windows file deleter that deletes files that you don't use any more. Also, you can recover the files that you have deleted with the file restorer. And finally, There is a auto scaner that scans the computer every [Monday@ 7:00 PM] or [every 3 days in idle mode] so YOU DON'T HAVE TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This Program is a MUST GET for all those computer geeks out there that complain that their computer is slow.

"Trial Period of 1 Day is complete waste of Time"

Initially seemed very impressive, however it takes quite a while to go through all the optimizations/cleaning up and tweaking. I spent the better part of yesterday doing so, and my PC was much faster.

HOWEVER, the trial period is only 1 day, this morning when I switched my PC on AVG Tune up appeared, telling me I needed to optimise my PC turbo boost! I was dismayed that it hadnt saved all the settings from the previous day and wanted me to go through it all again. A nice pop up takes you to BUY ME. I had thought the tweaks would remain, just no further improvements etc. On top of this when I tried to run my AVG Free antivirus, it wouldnt let me carry out the recommendations, without taking me to a BUY ME page - it had been working perfectly before I installed AVG PC tune UP. Furthermore, I could not restore my computer to an earlier restore point, as PC TuneUP had removed them all!(through Windows) Neither would PC TuneUP alllow me to go into any of its own options so that I could at least restore from PC tuneup in the recovery mode. It also took it upon itself to startup various programs on start up that I had previously disabled.

COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME! Once the 1 day trial has ended, it does not allow access into ZILCH! I cant restore changes to registry, or get into any programs to remove changes made by PC Tune UP. My only option has been to uninstall it, in the hope that I can then reuse other programs to restore my PC to before I used PC TuneUP.I could not restore my computer to an earlier restore point, as PC TuneUP had removed them all!(through Windows) Neither would PC TuneUP alllow me to go into any of its own options so that I could at least restore from PC tuneup in the recovery mode. . My only option has been to uninstall it, in the hope that I can then reuse other programs to restore my PC to before I used PC TuneUP. I just wasted a day in my life, and will need to waste more time today to restore my PC. Dont use the trial unless you really are intending to pay for the full product. I have used other PC optimization programs on a trial basis, before buying, and have never encoutered such a short trial period, or the inability to restore changes made if you decide you dont want the program. With PC tuneup, once you have used the 1 DAY Trial, you are practically forced to buy the full program if you dont like the changes. I will update later, If I have been able to sucessfully restore my PC to before PC Tune UP.

Over all the product is good, even though its just a 100% re-brand of TuneUp Utilities. However the price point is way out of my league.

Summary
I opened the menu page of my AVG and saw PC tuneup and thought , Cool, This is a good utility included with my AVG software. I clicked on it and it had to download to function, which is OK. So I go through the motions to download it and let it run to clean up my laptop PC. Fine. So it ran and deleted some temporary files and broken links and stuff. Fine.
After that, even the next day, I get this pop up everytime I open my computer, even if it wasn't online asking me to purchace the license for PC tuneup , over and over. It doesn't even give you an option to say NO. It just has a ask later button and a Purchase Now button. So I click ask later, the popup goes away. But comes back up later in the day. There is no way to disable it so I had to un install the software completely. I'm not going to spend $55 a year to run a add on utility that doesn't help nearly enough to justify itself.
I really like the popup blocker that is in AVG antivirus, It's a shame Shame SHAME for them to include such a pesky popup in their own software. Just give us a 'NO' button or at least a 'Go away for 2 weeks button'.

It did make the computer boot up quicker.

It is apparently overeager in what it deletes. After using the program my dvd/cd could no longer burn files to disk, and my MSWord could no longer print to my Corel PDF Fusion program. Hours later still trying to fix the problems caused by this program.

DEFINITELY A TWO THUMBS DOWN PROGRAM IF YOU WANT YOUR COMPUTER TO CONTINUE TO WORK CORRECTLY UNLESS A FASTER COMPOUTER THAT DOESN'T WORK RIGHT IS WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR!

Before running AVG PC TuneUp 2012 my computer would constantly bog down, often taking minutes to load a web page on a broadband connection, and had trouble completing simple tasks like opening a word document. I tried multiple cleaners and computer tune up tools, including the popular CCleaner; nothing did much to fix anything in my computer.
After running AVG PC TuneUp the program my computer is back to new condition. I didn't change anything else on my computer, and it is now functioning at least 200% faster, though it is probably more like 500 or 1000%. I could not be happier with this product, and although the free trial fixed my problems temporarily, I intend on buying the program very soon since things can go back to the way they are. It costs $35 for 1 year, or $55 for 2 years, and is easily worth that. It will literally save my hours a day in time. Thank you AVG. Do yourself a favor and download this program.Cons

Summary
This is an EXCELLENT program that has restored a badly virus ridden and slow computer to like-new condition. This program is very user friendly and smart, and offers excellent suggestions like changing your power scheme to performance and changing certain internet settings. It allows you to easily DISABLE STARTUP PROGRAMS, which I'm sure were a major problem on my computer. I could not be more satisfied after months of searching for a program that I was beginning to think did not exist. GET IT!!!
