    "Does slow PC some"

    Minimal footprint, Free, effective?

    Cons

    Slows PC some, nagging ads to upgrade to paid version (can opt out)
    new UI not as good as old AVG

    Summary

    Tried this on 3 PC's and one it slowed it to a crawl, the other two showed significant reductions in speed and much slower boot times.
    Scans were slow and the nagging about upgrading to a paid version of AVG was over the top. I will have to pass on the free version
