Excellent as always BUT see the Cons

Causes 32bit Windows OS to hang at start up.
A temp fix is to disable the AVGIDSAgent in Services. This can only be done in Safe Mode. I have found this fix can be reset to fail by subsequent AVG updates.

I have always been an advocate of AVG but I have now to advise all 32bit OS users to consider alternatives - and my preference is AVAST. Especially as AVG seem at present to be in denial of there being any fault. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

    Updated on Nov 2, 2012

I have several clients with AVG 2013 and the 32bit OS problem that causes Windows to sometimes hang. It is an intermittent issue. Further experimentation shows that by setting AVGIDSAgent to "Delayed Start" in Services largely solves the problem (all tests thus far seem to support this). You will then see AVG states that "You are not protected" but that changes after 1-2 minutes when the AVGIDSAgent starts. So you 32 bit OS users can continue to enjoy AVG!
