Version: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 8.0.169
"A Savior..."
Pros: Its Free and can detect threats and it can protect itself from threats.
Cons: A little slow, had an error at first when updating, but found workaround.
Summary: Best free anti-virus software out there. And it saved my parents PC..this PC already has McAfee on it but somehow got a virus still. I performed a Mcafee scan but didnt detect anything, i did an update but failed everytime. I couldnt figure out what was goin on. Then i would try free online virus scan similar to what Comcast Mcafee has or PCcilin, that too would fail, the online scan will take me to some other free antivirus site, then found out that the browser was highjacked and some trojan that can sometimes prevent downloads. luckily i got through downloading AVG from cnet (after a couple of tries) was able to update and perform a full scan. Virus was detected, removed and the PC was virus free. I updated Mcafee again and it was successful (i uninstalled after). Who cares what other reviews say...Its dependable..Trust Me!
