"I know why this is th most popular antivirus."
Pros: Works very well and doesn't occupy system resources. No hard drive gurgling on startup or after the program is used.
Cons: None. I've tried all 4 "most popular" free software. This is the best.
Summary: I've paid for antivirus software for as long as I can remember. I had a 3 year stint with PC Tools and I still could use their pay service for another 6 months but I don't want to. AVG is perfect - no nagging reminders, no 15 minute hard drive gurg... read more

Pros: Just Love it, This software has bailed me out again and again. Every time I buy a new laptop with a certain anti virus software that is less than protective on it, My first job is to replace it with AVG. Great Protection..........
Cons: The pop up can be annoying (then again we ALL have to Eat). It could be faster.
Summary: Even though it can be a bit slow and the pop up is a pain, this is nothing compared to the protection that one get with this software. In my HUMBLE view this is without doubt the BEST on the market read more

"Many Problems -- Unacceptable"
Pros: Good protection as with previous versions. The upgrade goes in smoothly.
Cons: New optimization scan feature locks up PCs for an unacceptably long time. Web scanner and link scanner cause problems with browsers. There is no way to quit AVG.
Summary: AVG have tried to be smart and reduce virus scan times, but they have actually deteriorated their product from the user standpoint. The cache (or optimization) scan feature cannot be disabled or controlled. It kicks in with a 2 hours or more scan on ... read more

Pros: Good suystem I have used it for years
Cons: Mail scanner does not work have a problem I down loaded loaded it a few times but still does not work
Summary: I might remove it because of the scanner not working. read more
