Pros
This is a lightweight & nonintrusive antivirus but don't confuse that for weakness, I've used this to clean a couple of heavily infected pc's. It does what its supposed to do, just update & scan regularly, scans emails too.
Cons
I'm not crazy about the interface, some say its detection rates are not the best but I'm pretty safe online and this gives me plenty of protection.

This is definitavely da best anti-virus available out there, for FREE. I have used Norton A/v, and AVG is sooooo much better than that one. It updates regularly, so new threats are regularly detected, n removed, and scans eveything pretty quickly, w/o leaving ne important plc. DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDED

It is free and use less memory.
Cons
Avast is more better than AVG. I used AVG before but it function is limited. Sometimes the AVG e-mail scanner doesnt work or turn off for no apparent reason. For Avast, it scan and notify when e-mail are downloaded.
It also got web protection and work very well compare to AVG. Avast catch web virus immediately when we surf on the net.
I'm used to be Free AVG supporter but since Avast done well than AVG, I think it is time AVG user to change to Avast.

I saw this under the "Best free software," and downloaded it right away. I had neglected my computer of an anti-virus, and it found over 114 virus! Whether it was exaggertaing the numbers for not, I noticed a difference in my computer right away. I have multiple anti everything else, but this is the only anti-virus that works for me. That may seem foolish , but it's true.

I wish it would update automatically, it's not hard to update, but I forget easily.

Pros
The capability to handle virus' the way you want. Also if you have a problem, you can simply delete and re-download AVG again.
Cons
Sometimes the virus can not be placed in the vault or deleted.
When this happens I have had to delete the AVG program and re-download.
