"Would Not Install Cleanly After Repeated Attempts"
I wouldn't know.
Would not install with complete UI'S - just showed the panel with exposed code on both the lower notification and right-hand panels - on either of my computers, both running Windows 7 x64 with Service Pack 1. (Main window was fine, however)
After trying every troubleshooting/repair optioned offered by AVG several times as well as Windows own troubleshooter (and, yes, I disabled all my other security software - just in case), I was not able to cleanly install AVG on either of my computers in at least half a dozen attempts over several days. If there's an incompatible program in either system, the installer gave no such alerts. I've never had this problem with ANY software before - just AVG - and don't give up up easily. Perhaps AVG isn't ready for 64 bit systems, yet, so I will happily stay with Avast, which is 64 bit friendly and has never given me any significant technical problems. It just needs to improve performance-wise; in all other areas I'll take Avast over AVG any day.
