from the instant i installed, my system started having problems.
internet access was gone, my system started locking up, after uninstalling i still have issues, but at least i can function. -

The Free Edition has difficulties getting "ALL" the Intrusions out of the File System.

For us though it was so very disappointing.
AVG was once very good. No longer.
Look, I tried. I really did. But have now wasted two weeks, deleting and re-installing the entire system on one computer because of the new AVG revision.
AVG 2012 is more than challenging. Not only is this the worst version of AVG, it has firmed my resolve never again to be involved with AVG or its now appalling product.
Yes, I've followed all the robot instructions and commands.
But only you would have a clue why AVG's whizz writer children acted without any thought of the customer, by including the browser hijack and the indelible imprints such as the 'updating' provision that couldn't be erased, yet prevented a clean re-install each time.Summary
Vale AVG. We are disappointed to see you in such a sorry state. Sadly, we can no longer carry you. But we wish you well.

I mean...really - this gets very old - especially when you have the same email going back, and forth, between people. Get rid of it, or at least cut it down to a small line. -

It dosent detect everything.I have a virus i cant remove and spybot is the only one that picked up on it.

No obnoxious pop-ups or supplementary programs. This alone was why I stopped using Norton. If you want an low profile Anti-virus program that just does it's job without being in your face 24/7, AVG is awesome.
Don't let the "free" fool you...this software is every bit as good as it's commercial competitors.Cons
Download links to get it are cryptic and confusing...probably deliberately so.

Slows down computer, false positives, browser hijacker, slow scan, too heavy on resources.
Summary
The most overrated anti-virus on the market. If you are going for a freebie, Avast and Anti-vir are both better choices than this slug.
