As far as I can work it out, PC security has two pretty much inherent flaws. The user never really knows if it works, and in order for the security system to be tuned to detect a particular threat, that threat has to already have infected somebody's computer at some time in the past. Science doesn't develop vaccines for diseases that don't exist. In regards to this particular program, my email was hacked within days of installation (which never happened before) and I now have to physically sign onto my email account when I log in through Firefox, which used to remember it. Coincidence? Who knows?

I have been using this AVG free since 1999 and i have never had a virus problem in my emails or over the internet.

Slows down PC's too much, so I'm thinking of removing it and going for Avast! or MSE.

For someone who is on a fixed income such as myself i cant belive that
that there are such nice People in the world to allow us to use there
product free of charge i downloaded this from CNET about 1 month ago
on my desktop and my laptop and for being disabled and having a
program such as AVG Technologies on my Desktop found over 34,000,
differnt things wrong with my desktop and to allow me to fix them was
fabulous, i couldnt belive how easy it was to fix them on my laptop there
was about 1,500 things wrong with my laptop and AVG Came Through
Again
To the Men & Women behid The Name AVG Technologies I THANK YOU
And For All Your Hard Work and the countless Hours Putting Togther a

Great software for my 10" netbook ... small download and gives ample protection for the average user.

Basic [but effective] anti-virus cover only BUT paid pro-version is option for larger user &/or business/corporate users.

I reccomend downloading microsoft security essentials. Its completely fully featured and 100% free.
