seems to slow down the computer during scans. otherwise no prob lems.

I consider myself an advanced PC user, I have been happy with the protection etc from AVG in the past. The new Security 2011 is the pwrst product I have purchased in years. I use firefox and most of the pages open in slow motion, I have tried to shut all the protectors off will no avail. I am in search of a new virus program and will just be out the $41. I just spent on this horrible program.

It's great for one-year or if you never get any Identity Malware on it but it needs SpyBot - Search & Destroy, Crap Cleaner (now CCleaner) and maybe Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware on it for Great Protection since that's what I have on my system and I haven't been plagued since. It's up to you for preference on what should be installed and what shouldn't be for you because we are different, you, the dear reader of this Product Rating, and I, the writer. Also, the "User-Sensitive" option is the same as "High-Priority" option. The toolbar is "Highly recommended" by me.

the new avg 2011 is horrible, it consistently locks up computers. it doesn't like to scan all files, it takes a long time to scan, and is not as user-friendly as it once was. plus, tech support is horrible.
Summary
tried to install this on 500 computers and it locked up all but 2. contacted avg support and followed their instructions precisely and all it did was uninstall and reinstall the initial program. duhhhh!! no help! still locks up computers. Scans really slow. does not protect you from spyware as they claim. also does not protect you from embedded viruses online. avg has lost sight of what an antivirus is supposed to do. they've added things that just bulk-up the program and that makes it run slower and cause more problems. do not install. it is pure junk! if you want viruses, install it.
