"A personal stock trader's crystal ball ?"
Version: ANNI Professional 3.45
Pros
Great software !!!! I have used this since it's v.2.0 roots, and found the uncanny precision of this product, compared to other software at many times the price of ANNI.
Cons
The faster CPU that you have, the quicker the analysis are completed. I have run this software on an older Pentium PC, an ATOM based netpad, but on a multi-core CPU, this software really rocks !
Summary
Very few software or service vendors in the trading software marketplace let you test drive or try some paper trades before committing to their product. ANNI gives you a fully featured 21 day test drive, to see how this will run on your PC with your market choices.
I have successfully traded stocks, mutual funds, and ETFs with the projections from ANNI, in conjunction with the trading tools provided by my online brokerage.
Next on the agenda is to paper trade some options to see how this handles those.
The tutorial material is good, but as with any product, more is better.
Having worked in the neural software business, I find this an outstanding value for the price, and the small extra investment in the Pro version is definitely worth it, for any serious trader.
I have to thank the developers of ANNI for forcasting one of the mutual funds meltdowns for positions that I had, weeks before bad news hit the street, saving me a key investment. When I started to see the projections drop in late 2008, before the market tanked, I went to largely cash positions, thanks to the ANNI forecasts, letting me trade another day.
Aside from the neural capabilities, there is a great toolbox of resources to do market research, calculate buy/sell points, and to take the market temperatures with just a few keystrokes.
And I can't say enough good things about the technical support and the on-going evolution of ANNI... this is the best investment which I have ever made in the markets... thanks J. -
"Have a lot of bugs and questionable methodology"
Version: ANNI Professional 3.40
Pros
Pros: - attractive User interface
- free stock quotesCons
Cons: - it suddenly crashes, always
- inaccurate prediction resultsSummary
- tried this for many times, but prediction results were not accurate.
the user interface is of very high quality, the program is well designed and sophisticated - but does not meet its intended purpose -
"Comprehensive program, easy setup, outstanding support."
Version: ANNI Professional 3.16
Pros
ANNI is a full-featured neural analysis program with lots of desirable stock market screening features included to help find investment candidates for its own comprehensive studies.
-
"Comprehensive and all you will need to make informed investments or trades."
Version: ANNI Professional 3.16
Pros
The broad and yet focused approach to the investment analysis and decision making process makes ANNI stand out against other similar programmes.
Like most programmes of this type the user will still need to make the final decisions on trades or investments but ANNI will provide most of the information needed for this.
The prediction system works fine and can be tailored to suite individual trading styles but will take a bit of user input to fine tune. There is now a much improved file input interface that automates much of this.
Cons
The real time streaming data partner / provider does not support foreign stocks.
This is not a problem of the ANNI programme more a restriction due to only having one source of real time data.

"The Smartest Computer Investor"
Version: ANNI Professional 3.14.1
Pros
Optimized CPU Usage: I can train while working, and when I restore to full screen - the entire engine is available to tweak. Other tools I've tried were either black boxes with little settings, and/or they had a horrendous interface and/or grinded my computer to a halt.
Intellectually Stimulating: As an investor who loves AI to begin with, I had as much fun just playing with the AI and watching it train at the intellectual level, as I did analyzing it's very well done outputs at a user/investor level.
Real World Accurate: I've been using ANNI for about 2-3 months now. I trained it extensively on a stock my family is heavily into. And though there was significant doubt that this stock would go down ANNI called it right on and weeks in advance while it was still going up to record heights.
Exemplary Support: The developer is very involved and takes great pride in getting it right. I was among his first to blunder into Vista using it (dang forced OS's on new comps). At the time, most of my other 3rd party software wouldnt work on Vista. Not only did ANNI work, but when I got a couple minor glitches, he was fast to respond with emails on suggestions of what I did wrong. In one case, it wasn't me, and I'd found a rare bug - so he came out with a patch to fix it within a week, he would simply not tolerate any flaws. You rarely find support like this, and my praise comes from a developer (which I am as well, so I really do know).
Cons
It is too fun to play with! Sometimes I'm spending so much time running scenarios with AI, I forget the purpose of getting the program was to trade in the real world. Is that a bad? Well if so, it is the only bad thing I can say for ANNI.

"A powerful tool for the serious investor."
Version: ANNI Professional 3.10.1
Pros
Simple user interface for establishing nueral net predictive information on financial instuments.Robust trading signals.
Cons
Very much USA focused. Useful but limited adaptability for non USA markets. The full power and comprehensive approach works best on USA markets. But dont be put off if you are not US based.

Cons

"One of the best tools for stock traders, long term or short term!"
Version: ANNI Professional 3.04
Pros
Much more than just a neural network progarm, it provides at the click of a button fundamental data, charts, etc. It tells you if a stock is a good candidate for analysis. It has two systems a trade signal system and neural network, in my experience better results are obtained when both are giving the same siganl.
The author is super responsive and very good at explaining technicals of the program.
While not perfect I now get advice from ANNI before I trade.
Cons
It does take some time to learn all the features, because it has many.
Regrettably the author does not guarantee stock market profits, so use it as one of your trading tools not as a single source of advice.

"A clever implementation of neural networking and genetic algorithms to trade."
Version: ANNI Professional 3.02
Pros
While neural networks are a bit of a "black box" in terms of predictions, this program provides a great deal of graphical and statistical support to gain confidence in the output.
