Version: AML Free Registry Cleaner 3
"Very good freebie but NOT for the faint hearted"
Pros: Excellent but I am in agreement with the last reviewer it is VERY agressive! Very quick and very thorough. I found it very useful and more thorough than any of the other free reg cleaners I have tried so far. It found more invalid entries than any other and exactly the same number as a paid for trial I did last week!
Cons: It may be a little much for anyone with only a basic knowledge of registries. I suggest a back up before scanning. Then go through each registry entry considered invalid, very carefully. If not for the agressiveness I would have given it 5*'s.

I may not be faint hearted but I am somewhat paranoid of software that claims or is said to be extremely thorough. Thank you very much for the heads up on this freebie. When I was first introduced to registry cleaning programs, many, many, many moons ago, I simply took for granted that what the registry cleaner had offered up as entries were all to be deleted. It caused irreparable damage to the registry, and my computer went into nowhere land on the next reboot. I have since relied on a decent uninstaller for keeping my registry clean but I have found that my computer is quite slow now, after running Win XP Pro for the past 3 years. I have personally accessed my registry many times to remove orphaned files and other entries left behind by even some of these so I am quite confident that I can manage this software by using it with caution, as you suggest, going "through each registry entry considered invalid, very carefully." I rely on BitDefender Anti-virus/Anti-malware and Sunbelt Personal Firewall (SPF) for over 4 months now and consider my system to be one of the cleanest around. Together, they have caught and stopped all malicious accesses to my computer and given me a sense of security and confidence I have not had for quite some time since Norton failed me and was the cause of irreparable damage due to a particularly effective virus that managed to defy its defenses. BitDefender got rid of it for me. My BitDefender allows me to control which cookies are allowed to be dropped onto my system and which ones are allowed to leave my computer. Now THAT's control. All said, this registry cleaner is probably just what I need.
