Summary
This software is refered to as for Win98, however the README file indicates for Win3.1 and Win95. Although the term "Win95" sometimes is defined as Win9x ( Win95 and Win98 ) and this software may or may not work with Win98, it is actually an old driver if it works for Win98. All the files are dated as 1993, 1996, and 1997. Also two of the files: snddata and als386 have the file extention of .z which is actually a unix operating system extention. Many times a business uses unix or linux for database files. My guess as a possibility, and I stress possibility, is that the files were on a unix system and the two mentioned above may have been compressed using the unix utility compress.exe which provides the .z extention.
