"Ugly interface / non-sync'd audio"
Version: ALO Video Converter 6.7
Pros
Seems to have a lot of options.
Cons
Trial version only allows 2 minute videos, thought Download.com does not disclose that info. Audio goes about 3 seconds out of sync after 2 minutes of conversion (in this case from DVR-MS to MPEG2), which makes it useless for me.

""Free to Try" means it converts only 1/2 of your file."
Version: ALO Video Converter 6.6
Pros
It can convert half of your file to the format you want!
Cons
Can't actually use the product unless you buy it.
Summary
"Try" something else.

"Output looks horrible, even on "uncompressed" setting."

"Didnt work."

Cons

"crashed everytime I tried to do a conversion"
Version: ALO Video Converter 3.1
Pros
kept crashing, I never got to see any of the pros
Cons
The worst part is that every move you made the program kept reminding you that you have to buy it in 14 days. Th etrial version limited you to only file at a time and did all kinds of weird stuff. Its like they software creater was afraid you might get to much benefits out of the free trial and never buy the program. That was very annoying. Then with the program constantly crashing this whole download became a BIG waste of time.

"Poor quality"
Version: ALO Video Converter 1.12
Pros
It does convert !
Cons
The AVI files which result are of an extremely poor quality, especially when converted from Real files (it is a little better from WMV). The sound is really trashy, and poorly synchronized with the video. Even if the price is low, it isn't worth buying. Perhaps the new version is good, but I haven't tried it, since I have discoverd Super C, which is much better, and free.

"Not so good"
Version: ALO Video Converter 1.11
Pros
It does convert video types. Fairly cheap for it's kind and while in trial you can convert many videos.
Cons
Biggest flaw is that output file is very large. I tried to convert from avi to mpg(1) and got file that was 5 times bigger than the original file. Also, in some combinations, I got a green stripe at the bottom of the screen. No MPEG-4 support. Sometimes crashes when minimized (when idle), and has some other minor stability issues. There are better applications that do the same job. Compared to the quality of many free applications, this product is bad.

"Program is great but company doesn't respond to emails"
Version: ALO Video Converter 1.7
Pros
The program works as stated. Since the company refuses to issue registration code, just use it for the 14 times, uninstall it and than reinstall the program.
Cons
I received an email stating that I would receive a registration code within 12 hours. Over a week later, no code was sent and the company refuses to answer emails. Don't fall for the scam, just download the free version and install as required.

"This is what im looking for a complete video converter"
Version: ALO Video Converter 1.6
Pros
I can convert video taken by my digital camera and share or send it to my friends instantly in a compresses format yet the same quality.
Cons
Hope there are more choices of format to convert video in both ways.

"It's alright."
Version: ALO Video Converter 1.5
Pros
The interface is user-friendly and easy on the eyes. How to do everything is pretty obvious.
Cons
It didn't work for me. It kept telling me it didn't support the file type (.mov).
