"Clunky and Crash-Prone"
Version: ALO Audio Editor 2.1
Pros
ALO AE 2.1 operates reasonably fast, and does *some* things well - until you're past session #6 of the trial. You can still do all the editing you wish, but your output will have more pops and crackles than a pan of good old Jiffy-Pop. +++ I was about to buy this product and overlook its flaws until I tried to use it after restart-from-crash #5, at which point it started introducing clicks and garbage into the output.+++
Cons
ALO AE 2.1 looks like it's either someone's first attempt or something written for internal use in some corporation. It crashes if you cancel out of any operation after the operation has begun. The notch and peak EQ filters are basically worthless because the frequency sliders lack granularity and ARE NOT based on musical octaves, rather they are based on the spectrum of what you're editing and how it is encoded. Expect notch points to vary and not follow any particular logic unless you have a TI calc sitting on your computer table - and even then, who needs to set a notch at 1 hz? Also, don't use the compressor unless you have a fair amount of time - or work on pure sine waves.
== Bottom Line: Not worth the time to download.==
