Version: ALNO AG Kitchen Planner 0.95b
"Design your new kitchen with ease..after a few tries."
Pros: Great graphics and lots of options. I redesigned my entire kitchen layout after trying different options. Lots of cabinet and counter textures and colors. I actually went beyond a kithen design and laid out my entire downstairs including the removal of my fireplace and turning that wall into a media center.
Cons: This is a German product so everything is metric. So, when measuring your space ahead of time you will need to convert your measurements.
The program could have included a few more choices for appliances. There was only one refrigerator and one range to choose from, and very few double sinks, which is probably more common here.
You don't need to know CADD to use this...as long as you can use a mouse, you should be ok.

Pros: Cool product, does exactly what it says.
Cons: Rather confusing to use, and takes a long time to startup.

"don't believe the hype : it does work !"
Pros: Nicest kitchen planner available. Very powerful, quite easy. Need a recent PC to move in 3D (2004+) (no problem for stills).
After drawing our kitchen in 4 different tools (ikea and co.), this one is one of the best and the nicest in 3d rendering.
Cons: You need to search through the menus to understand how to move in 3d with the mouse.
Apparently on few PC it might not work, but it's definetly worth trying.

"Could use a little polishing."
Pros: The choice of materials, ie.. flooring/ wall treatments etc.., are superb. Ease of use and being "User Friendly" really make this a great and must have program..
Cons: I have not figured out how to get the wall "tiles" to function. I click on them and they fail to show up on the walls. The wallpaper and paint seem to work OK.
