Version 8.0 added the following new features:

Added support for GPU (graphical processing unit) acceleration that significantly speeds up image processing.
The new GPU option (in the program's Preferences) is only active if a computer has an appropriate video card. The image processing speed depends directly on a video card.
Added support for selections made in the graphics editor (to the plugin version). A selection made in the graphics editor will be transferred to the plugin and displayed as the outline made with the Keep Color Pencil.
Improved compatibility with Mac OS X Lion.
Added the list of Recent Files which is visible by right mouse clicking on the Open Image button.
Added the possibility to use the OS File dialog for loading and saving files.
