"ACDSee has become slower with each version."

    November 7, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

It is sad to see that an application that was once the de facto choice for quickly viewing different image formats has grown into an over-featured piece of software that has actually become too slow to use as a practical solution; caching thumbnails, preloading images and updating the database have done nothing but slow down this once fine application.

    "New User......very impressed!"

    November 1, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

It has taken me a while to adopt the world of digital photography, but now there is no going back. ACDSee was recommended to me by a friend -- and as a new user, I'm very impressed! No more shoe boxes, I can now easily manage my pictures. I am new to this program but would highly recommend it -- anything to make life easier!

    "The very best image organizer!"

    November 1, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

I like the way ACD lets me organize my images by category & date. I've got over 10 Gb of images that I accumulated over the years, and they would be impossible to manage otherwise. I had no problems with systems crashes or hang-ups. The viewer works with lightning speed. Good job!

    October 28, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

I use ACDSee to manage both my photos at the hospital and my family photos. It has all the features that I need. ACDSee7 is a nice upgrade; I like the slideshow features & image well. Keep it up!!!

"Great upgrade to an excellent product"

    October 28, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

This is a big improvement over the previous release. I have tons of photos on my hard drive and this gives me much faster access. It is just what I needed to make my job easier.

    "Best-of-class product for media buffs..."

    October 28, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

In my business I deal with a lot of digital assets produced for my clients, and for a number of years I have been looking for a product that would effectively organize my madness. Finally I have a found it! It is fast, easy to use, and saves me from launching Photoshop everytime I need a minor tweak. I am not thrilled with the license manager they have in place, but if you are patient and get past it you won't be disappointed. Read the rest of the reviews and I am not sure these folks were looking at the same product I was.

    "The best release yet"

    October 27, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

This version is a big step forward for ACDSee. It adds power features like the image comparison and image well and improves ease of use with the context sensitive toolbar. But for those of us that are taking lots of photos, the improved speed make it a must-have upgrade. I'm surprised that some users have complained about stability; it hasn't crashed once on me. It seems super-stable.

    "what have they done?"

    October 27, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

ACDSee 7 is a big disappointment. The worst thing is the new database : yes it's fast BUT in previous versions it was waaaaay smaller than this one's (it's about half the size of your images....so if you've got 7GB of images you'll have 3GB of database).Bad Bad Bad.I would recommend this program only if you've got a lot of hard disk space to waste.

    "Why did they make this"

    October 17, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

I have version 2.41 and it is still the best programme they made.
All these upgrades are really not needed.
I have tried them all and the worst of them all has to be version 4 followed really closely by version 5.

Why do they keep trying to improve a perfect product.

    "Never got it to work!"

    October 14, 2004  |

    Version: ACDSee 18 7.0

    Summary

I downloaded the trial version here. I never was able to use it since the program would freeze on me. The first time you use the program it wants to connect to Internet to finish the installation aparently. At that point half way there it would freeze. There is no way getting around that so I was never able to use the program.
I was glad I tried the trial version first instead of buying it right away as I intended to do first.
I use Windows XP home on a 5 months old computer which never gave me problems so far so it wasn't a hardware thing.
