At last this program pretty much does it all and I can throw my other renamers away! Been asking for this feature for a while... thanks for adding it in!

    "Great interface, stable, but SLOOOOOOOOOOOW"

    Summary

On a Dual 1GB G5 this thing takes about 3 minutes to rename about 1000 files. I don't see why it should take anywhere near that long. I love the program but I'm still on the lookout for something faster, if that tells you anything.

    "Hotkey"

Please allow us to get rid of the hotkey if we don't want it. I remove it.... it just keeps putting it back! I don't want it!

I've got a forever licence.... how about adding functionality like exifrenamer does..?? please.. then this would be the only program I need.

This little utility has been around for quite some time. I have been a user since the early days. I am very happy with the way the program is evolving and the latest incarnation is the best yet. Good work!!

    "Very quick and very handy!"

    February 8, 2004  |   By Gregory--2008

    Version: A Better Finder Rename X 6.1.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using ABFR for quite some time. Under OS X, calling it up via the contextual menu was relatively clumsy and slow. The user couldn't be sure what the results of their rename specifications would be until after performing the operation. And the actual renaming was relatively slow.

That's all changed now. (under OS X 10.3.2) Calling the contextual menu is very fast. The user can see a convenient small preview or a full list preview of the file names before/after the proposed changes. And the actual file renaming is very fast.

    I'm impressed and extremely pleased.

    "Outstanding Developer Response"

5 days ago I sent the developer a request for more date formats. The same day he responded saying he would put it on his list. Today he posted a version containing these new formats. Outstanding service!

    "Only for the frivolous !"

    November 19, 2003  |   By Lex Luthor--2008

    Version: A Better Finder Rename X 6.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.

    A little while ago this was $14.95 now it's $20 !

On OS9 this was an excellent tool, then the draconian
style of upgrade payments started and I fell out with
    this company very quickly.

This CM is extremely handy and a very useful tool
to have around. But why should I outlay $20 for a tool
with so many freeware alternatives available is beyond me
and I can only assume this is for the 'money to burn' mac
    user.

I have not had any problems with 'R-Name' in Jag or
now with Panther and believe it to be the better tool.

ABFR is a very handy re-namer to have but a little
too expensive - A must have, for the frivolous.

I tolerate this app because it's better than the others I've used. However, I sure wish I could find a batch naming app that I actually like. And finally, I can't get it to work in 10.3.
