    "the best and free"

    February 4, 2013  |   By petert2005

    Pros

Scans and removes malware for free
    Easy to use

    Cons

Doesn't scan archives (Read summary info)
No real time protection (Pro Version only)
    No Automatic Updates(Pro Version only)
    No Scheduling(Pro Version only)
    No heuristics(Pro Version only)

    Summary

Many years ago I had to fix our family computer that was infected badly and after trying lots of different programs I stumbled onto malwarebytes which found and removed the bad infections. Ever since, if I've ever came across a computer with infections that don't seem to want to be removed e.g. by the currently installed security program, I use malwarebytes and it hasn't failed me yet.

It's great for removing things your main programs won't but if you want actual real time protection as well as heuristics, scheduling and automatic updates then you will have to buy the pro version.

It is also doesn't scan archives. It's important to note that Malwarebytes is designed to run alongside an antivirus program but isn't actually designed to replace one.

All in all though I recommend the free version to everyone.
