    "Malware Buster"

    December 9, 2010  |   By Curlybird

    Pros

Seeks out malware other security packages miss and destroys it like a heat seeking missile. I'm an IT Pro of 40 years and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a program I use myself and recommend to my clients. It's gotten rid of some real bad boys.

    Cons

    Nothing, really.

    Summary

I have used Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to get rid of some very stubborn malware infections that have made some of my client's lives miserable. I was even able to install and update it on some systems that were so infected, nothing else would install. There were a few hoops I had to jump through, but it did the job.

The heuristic algorithms are great. If you crank the the heuristic scanning up all the way, your scan may take a while, but they will find the culprit(s) causing the infection and can differentiate between good and bad guys.

It is easy to set up for clients to use and means more up-time for them. What I like to do is a deep scan first, then set it up to run in the background and scan with a shallower heuristic setting.

On the overall, I would say that my main likes about Malwarebytes Anti-Malware center around the ease of use for my clients and the dependability of it to seek and destroy malware infections.
