    "This is a scam!"

April 12, 2009  |   By The Sports Fan

    Pros

Sorry all you fans of this junk. NONE unless your desperate.

    Cons

Buyer beware! Do what I started doing months ago. Click on some of these 5 star reviewers names. 1 review, 1 review, 1 review & guess what it's for! You guessed it, this! I own the paid version & don't use it. Imagine that!

    Summary

Paid version install on a fresh Vista Ultimate, SP-1 system. Restart nearly brought ion disaster. Did you know that Webroot Spy Sweepers processes are Vundo trojans? What about ESET Smart Security's? Yep , all those to if you wanna believe what this app in a paid version tells you. I don't! Had to boot into safe mode to get rid of this garbage after a forced shutdown. In top of that, updates are iffy & unsuccessful on many occasions. You have to change servers, manually. Now, add all that to a horrribly slow full system scan & it adds up to junk. Buyer beware! Do what I started doing months ago. Click on some of these 5 star reviewers names. 1 review, 1 review, 1 review & guess what it's for! You guessed it, this! Fool me once, it's on you. Fool me twice, it's on me. IT AIN"T GONNA HAPPEN!

Well, i actually searched is malwarebytes a scam, and found this, so i had to make an account to leave a reply >.< i have to say i agree with you on the performance of this product... my family started using the free version a couple of months ago... and i notice, every time they put it on a computer it magically finds two or three things that a fully updated ESET system can't find... (<3 nod32) so they of course don't look, just see infected files DELETE, i don't know if it has anything to do with this program... but after they installed the free version of it their computers started using more bandwidth to leave comments on facebook than xbox live and world of warcraft generate...at the same time... >.>

Well, this was only my 3rd review in 3 years. I don't download a lot of programs and when I searched for my particular malware, this program popped up in the search engine as being a good one to remove it. Apparently you didn't find it helpful, and that's a shame but that's all your review should have said, thre is no need to call the rest of us liers or cheaters or scammers. My review was legit. This program removed my malware when several other failed. The fact that I don't download a lot of programs (or find them worthy enough to comment on) does not make me a scammer.

I am using this program with no issues at all. Also I got the Free version of this. The one with the on demand scanner only and manual updates.

As for the updates; I have no issues with it as far as not loading. About the only time I have any issues is if the server was busy, but for me this is supper rare.

I have read the 5 star reviewer summaries rather then looking at the amount of reviews look at the dates they join the site; because some of them are new to the site as of March 2009. That seams immature of you to dismiss a product based on this.

As for my full-scan time it takes me 3 hours and 53 second to get done. But I know that it is doing its job of looking at all of my files on the C: drive. The quick scan takes a lot less time. The scan times don't bug me an any way.

I have (had) a paid version of this software and have to say I am uncertain as to the effectiveness of the software too. It maybe that in practicing safe surfing I have prevented infection, but this program has failed to detect anything other than Evidence Eliminator which I use to eliminate online banking activity, and have no reason to doubt in 4 years of use. The full scans are painfully slow-nearly 2 1/2 hours! crazy! This is no longer for me.
