    "Stripped-down but efficient anti-malware."

    June 3, 2008  |   By DarkHawke

It does a great job of catching the tracking cookies that Spybot and Windows Defender miss. It does what it's supposed to do and nothing more.

Unless you pony up for the paid version, a lot of things that should be done automatically are left to manual control, e.g. definition updates and scan scheduling. Always-on anti-malware monitoring is also left to the paid version, but the still-free Spybot does such a good job locking down one's system to even allegedly okay apps (I'm lookin' at you, QuickTime, iTunes and RealPlayer!), it's no great loss.
