"Mac DVDRipper Pro phones home to Google Analytics."

    June 3, 2013  |   By zunipus

It works well, within the limits of DRM (Digital Rights Manglement)

Mac DVDRipper Pro phones home to Google Analytics

Mac DVDRipper Pro phones home to Google Analytics.

The only reason to do so to my knowledge is to allow Google surveillance of my computer behavior. If your app is going to surveil my computer use, then ASK MY PERMISSION FIRST, DAMMIT. I have used my reverse firewall Little Snitch to deny Mac DVDRipper Pro access to Google Analytics forever. I suggest other folks with reverse firewalls consider doing the same.

Good to get a heads about this program squealing to google... but what I really want to know is how well did the darn program work! I just assume that any program is going to attempt to "phone home" so firewall accordingly... when I care. Did the program work as advertised or not?

Thanks for that update. I will do just that and get Little Snitch on the job.
