"Resolved playback problems where Power DVD 10 failed."
Pros
Very fast download (compared to Power DVD). Plays HD-DVD as well as Blu-ray. Upgrades DVDs for sharper playback. Optional 3D plug in brings you one step closer to 3D capable system.
Cons
Would love a still step button.
Summary
I have an LG Blu-ray/HD Dvd combo player that just would not work with power DVD on Windows 7. Spent so many frustrating hours trying to get Power DVD to work with my Blu-ray / HD-dvd drive I decided to "move on" and try Arcsoft Totalmedia player Platinum. I can honestly say I love this player. After a very fast download, and a quick install, I am playing Blu-ray, HD-dvd, and of course DVDs without a hitch on my Windows 7 64 bit system. Great audio too although it was a leap of faith here as the trial software has limits that prevent a full test of high end audio. The 3D plug-in is great fun and works with 2D movies on DVD and HD-dvd to present a simulated 3D movie presentation while we wait for the real thing. (Note this feature as of this date is not working on Blu-ray discs). Overall a great player with a very intuitive interface and not as many annoying ad popups as I used to get from Power DVD players.
