"Great Game -- Update installation, not so much"

    April 19, 2012  |   By clarkbgm

    Pros

This is an awesome suite of games. Tons to choose for play. Have not encountered one bug in this software. I use it everyday. Great technical support and response time (usually).

    Cons

For me, has 2...First, when high score is achieved, I have not found a way to stop from displaying stats after game. It is just a small peeve and would not give up software because of it.

#2--For me, this is a big one. I receive emails regarding updates. When I receive one, I download update. Usually this is possible with no interference to installed software. I received an email announcing an update to Sol Suite 2012. I was unaware my update period was over and downloaded and installed. Sol Suite would not accept the activation code (makes sense). Since there was a problem with 2012 version, I went back to my previous version, downloaded updates I had downloaded before. Now I can't use it either except in the free version. Refusing the activation key is not a rare occurrence and have had to request support on several occasions even on some (but not all) updates. This is such a problem because have to wait for support response to use again.

    Summary

I will continue to use this software when my problem is corrected and my old version reactivated. It is great game software with minimal problems. Sorry about the long con narrative but I have never been able to be brief!! I also own both Mahjongg Suite and Sudoku Suite made by same group. They are also excellent purchases.

    Hi clarkbgm,

Regarding the SolSuite "Hi-Scores" dialog box, you should click on "Tools" - "Options" and then on the "Dialogs" page. Un-select the "Enter Hi-Scores" and "Game Won" checkboxes and click "OK" to confirm your selection.
