    "Good, but Recode is slow."

    Pros

    Improved interface, new features, still one of the best burning applications.

    Cons

    Recode is significantly slower than in Nero 7. On my computer an hour T.V. show would take 18-20 mins. using v. 7. But the with Nero 8, encoding jumped to over 30 minutes. I've tried to find solutions to no avail.

    Summary

    Overall if recoding is not in your forte, then by all means Nero 8 offers many functions and usability is simplified for the most part. However, with Nero 9 coming out, it may be worth looking into that version. For me the most frustrating part is that just purchased Nero 8 a little over a month ago. Nero's best offering so far was $69 to upgrade to version 9.
