Summary
After being waved on to wait "over there" (in the small entry way by the owner's right hand man, we were told to go to the bar and wait further. I asked for a cosmopolitan and the glass came half full (empty). We were finally seated but waited a long time for our waiterater waiting for 20 minutes we asked who our waiter was and lo and behold he showed up. After receiving our salad appetizers we had to ask for bread. There were four of us and they brought three pieces of bread. Nice. We waited a long time for our food and the drink I ordered 30 minutes prior finally came after I said something to the hostess. I explained to the hostess that we were taking our friends out for their 30th anniversary and I was extremely embarrassed at the lack of service and graciousness. She promised a celebratory cake would be sent over with champagne. The person I was with had his Branzino fileted table side but had to wait 20 minutes until our food was ready to receive a cold and boney fish. We were never asked if we wanted anything and had to request cheese for he pasta. Luckily we were near the water station because we had to pour our own water. The waiter came and took our coffee order which we received fairly promptly and after 30 minutes there was still no celebratory cake or champagne. I approached the hostess for the third time and she was apologetic and took my credit card.the bill came very quickly. Needless to say I was seething and REFUSED to leave a tip but left a note stating the service was lousy. I, once again went to the hostess and asked to see the owner and was told he was busy in the kitchen. I told her I would wait five minutes and then I would go find him. His right hand man came out and told me to calm down and have a drink by the bar, naturally I would pay for it. He called over the waiter who pulled out his credit card and said he would pay for it. The right hand man told him to put it away and stated he would pay for it if I never came back to the restaurant. NOT A PROBLEM!
