  Pros

  Newer versions of Xobni don't really add much in the way of functionality, but they do what Xobni has done for years: index your Outlook mail and do so incredibly well.
  
  The newer releases also seem to suffer from more sluggish performance.

  Cons

  As mentioned, the new versions of Xobni reduce Xobni's functionality and are more bloated than the 1.7 version. Download Xobni 1.7.3, install and then disable the Xobni service to prevent Xobni from updating to a newer version.

  Summary

  Xobni *was* great software, and if you can get your hands on 1.7.3, it still will be. Lightning fast searches for contacts, attachments, and text within emails makes Xobni a really great tool.
  
  The Pro versions of Xobni after 1.7.3 do offer more powerful searching capabilities, and if you need to search for words in emails from a particular contact, only the Pro version can do this. However, Xobni 1.7.3 will search for the same words, but just across all email in Outlook. It's not a really big limitation in practice.
  
  So to sum up: Xobni 1.7.3 good, everything else afterwards, not so good.
