    "Best Browser"

    January 15, 2013  |   By cnetguy7

    Pros

    -highly customizable
    -quick
-stable (version 9 onwards, experienced NO CRASHES)
-more addons available than any other browser.
-all websites render well unlike *cough cough CHROME.

    Cons

-isn't the best at anti-phising websites which is why a good anti-virus with good web blocking is a must. If you can't get kaspersky or bitdefender, at least use avira, avast, AVG because these AVs will block the malicious websites that FF may not or at least prohibit the downloading of malicious files.

    Summary

What can I say? The addons make my life easy. The super start addon means that I mostly don't have to type the website url and the privacy addons ensure that I don't collect cookies or enable websites to track me across the web.
The most important thing is peace of mind knowing that corporate google isn't monitoring all your activity. Same with Opera which is ultimately a private company. Internet Explorer isn't user friendly and Safari on non-APPLE machines is mediocre performing and p1ss poor at blocking malware sites.
Does google pay Firefox millions a year? YES. Does that make FF google's puppy? doubt it because they would get other financiers such as yahoo or microsoft for its bing.
FIREFOX is maintained by many devoted, idealistic and conscientious software developers. One cannot say this for GOOGLE CHROME, OPERA, SAFARI, IE. This will never change and that alone gives it a plus point over all other browsers but that's not the only reason you should try it out.

@cnetguy7 Yes, the addons do make life much easier! I have 64 extensions on my Firefox and absolutely love what they add to my browsing experience. After using a feature laden Firefox all other browsers feel primitive by comparison ....like stone knives and bearskins.
