I use Chrome (and IE) as a backup to my main browser which is Firefox. I rate Chrome as an OK browser that can be fast (though I find FF to be faster overall). I'm not so sure I like that the browser opens a new process for every tab and extension. Just seems like it takes up more memory like this and has more opportunities for things to go wrong. I find single process FF pretty stable and it rarely freezes. I do like the clean design of Chrome though I wish it were more customizable and I could put what I want, where I want. Although I prefer a separate search field from the url field, Chrome does a good job with its combo url/search field and I find it works well unlike IE's (try searching for an email address in IE). Overall, ok, but Firefox is better.
- unable to add a familiar menu bar (with file, edit etc) like you can with FF
- the favorite star only adds favorites, you can't access the favorites to click them from the star and even add-ons won't allow you to add and access favs all from same link/click, you have to do multiple clicks, FF allows you to add and access favs from one click
- opens a lot of processes... this is supposed to be good but this seems to use more memory and doesn't seem to make the browser any more stable than other browsers like FF
- does not seem like the fastest browser like it is often said to be, FF seems just as fast if not a little faster
It's an OK broswer. I use it as a backup. Hopefully Google will continue to improve it.
