    "FAST BUT COMPLICATED"

    February 14, 2012  |   By wyboojer

    Pros

Very fast vs other web browsers i have used like IE and Firefox
Tons of extensions which really speed up access to specific tools and websites
Lets you tie in all sorts of Google tools to work in conjunction with each other
Google's development activities show how committed they are to constant improvement of their entire space.

    Cons

I am no computer technician but i have been repairing my hardware and software problems involving computers I have owned for over 10 years. That said I believe Google Mail has affected my ability to use a non Google email program like Mozilla Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail to the point that i am not getting many of the emails i have gotten in the past.I have installed an uninstalled a variety of combinations of email programs and web browsers to find a combo that will work without success to date. As much as I love Google Chrome I am close to simply deleting all Google programs and tools as a way of hopefully re-establishing a simple email program that works in an uncomplicated way.Even deleting Google Mail or Chrome isnt that easy ...at least not for me. I am beyond frustrated with this problem, thus the 3 star rating instead of a 5.

    Summary

Maybe the problems i am having with Google mail and my other email programs are my fault. I sure hope so because i think Chrome is heads and shoulders above the competition at this point.

I wonder if I could help.

Right now I am running Chrome and Windows Live Mail (primarily because of my old Hotmail Account that doesn't support IMAP...another conversation, for sure).

In Windows Live Mail, I check five (5) email accounts (1 Hotmail, 3 Google, and 1 Other) with little to no issue using IMAP. It works beautifully.

My question: What are you specifically trying to accomplish?

In addition: What issues are you having? (you weren't very clear)
