"FF hasn't been as stable since version 3.6.x"

    August 6, 2011  |   By pentium4forever

Free and works well most of the time but has become more unstable since version 3.6x

Freezes a bit with extensions that never had issues with it in older versions, perhaps it's a development problem. Flash crashes a bit and doesn't always work well. This is coming from a longtime FF user.

pentium4forever ...... I too am a long time Firefox user and I certainly agree that the browser has been unstable on Windows 7 since 3.6.x. Very unstable! However it seems to work well on my Linux distribution. Like you I never saw these problems with older versions. The development people at Mozilla have sacrificed Firefox's stability and extension compatibility for a bit more speed, the minimalist GUI, and a few new features. At this time it's looking like a bad trade-off. Hopefully version 6, due out on Aug.16, will address the instability issues we are currently seeing.
