"Best all around browser is making Firefox look stagnant"

    January 26, 2010  |   By Akiba

Fast, great UI. Innovation is moving much faster than FF and IE. I expect most of the cons to be temporary. Makes the best use of screen space without sacrificing menu items and bookmarks.

No NoScript. This is huge drawback security wise. Don't buy all the hype about sandoxes. This browser is vulnerable in some places where FF+NoScript are safer. In addition the Adblocking extensions are not nearly as effective as the FF ones.

This is the best all around browser available. It's fast, has a great UI, great feature set, and is constantly advancing at a fast pace. If Mozilla doesn't step it up they will end up being the next IE. I have even found that dev variants on the Ubuntu are faster and more stable than Firefox.

Some essential extensions are missing or aren't very effective. They just so happen to be the most important extensions available on Firefox. From what I gather the APIs aren't in place to make those features effective, so they do loose points for that but I expect that to be temporary. I really hope it has nothing to do with a clash with internal business practices. That being said, the extension experience on Chrome is much more seamless, often not even requiring a browser restart. I can't honestly say Firefox is a better browser because of 2 third party extensions.
