"Firefox is still king so far"

    April 7, 2009  |   By mitchjmh

    Pros

The ability to customize and add-ons that are very useful with surfing, bookmarking, menus, and a whole slew of other things.

    Cons

Some releases tend to crash sometimes and some releases tend to hog memory more than others - the 3.06 and 3.08 releases seem to be fine but the 3.05 and 3.07 releases had crash and memory issues to them.

    Summary

Despite reviews about Firefox crashing and despite reviews of Opera and Chrome and IE being better, Firefox is the one to beat and everyone knows it. If Chrome incorporated Firefox add-ons then they would give them a run for their money but other than that Firefox will remain my go to browser and it is the best browser to get if you want to get the most out of your web browsing experience - let me repeat that last line because it is the most important one you'll see about browsers - Firefox is the best browser you can get if you want to get the most out of a web browsing experience period. This is what makes it better than all the other browsers out there and despite any crash or memory issues, it's what will keep it on top until such time that another browser comes along that offers the same level of extras that enhance a persons surfing experience. Things like previewing a link before I open it - knowing what a link opens - using mouse clicks to navigate pages - being able to overwrite existing bookmarks with the current page etc. there are so many extra little things like this to aid a person while they surf and none of the other browsers have this - at least not anywhere near the level and ease that Firefox does. Opera tries but their stuff pretty much sucks. Until anyone else starts offering extras like this, Firefox will stay number one.
