    "A decent VOIP shell"

    January 3, 2011  |   By flrhcarr

    Pros

Easy to set up, but you need to dl the larger program to install
    Easy enough to use
    Free
    No advertisements

    Cons

    Can't think of any really.
It didn't ask me if I wanted to install it to my own directory (or drive), which sucks.

    Summary

I compare this with other programs that I've used voice on (I haven't used it via web cam as yet), Pal Talk & the like.
Setup didn't take long at all, finding the settings was pretty easy. Connecting with someone you know is easy enough, just type in their screen name or phone number (if they are using it for Skype), send them a message & connect.
I like that it will ping people on their phones, which alerts them that you're on. I don't know if it works on all phones, I just know isometherother pinged the person I was talking with, when I came on.
You can set up an avatar if you don't want to show your mug, which are free, or use any of your own.
The clarity was fine even using it wireless. So if someone is going to use Skype & you want to just talk over the net go ahead & dl this software. It doesn't offer anything more than the other ones, nor does it offer any less really.
Keep in mind you have to install while on-line & this software requires the larger setup software to install.
