"Waste of time.."
Frame rate selection for play video mode
Less resource intensive than webcam max
Easy to use
The rest of the product (literally)
I could really care less about using effects, as the only thing I want to be able to do is stream games & movies at a reasonable frame rate. Doing this on any other virtual webcam software other than magic camera seems like a waste of time. Webcam max is too bloated and it causes my CPU to heat up too fast, and the frame rate is nothing to be proud of; and Super webcam only allows a limited frame rate for playing videos. Magic camera used to stream videos quite well, and I never once received a complaint from any of my stream viewers. Then in comes something that ends up plaguing virtually every decent program -- program updates. There is not one decent program that I've used that has not gone to absolute crap because the company felt the need to change something on their program; not once. And frankly, I think that's where magic camera is headed. First off, right out of the box, if you try to stream a certain area of your desktop, it gives you an error message saying that you need to download a codec. The website provided makes everything appear to be fine, but it's really not. You download the codec, follow the instructions given to configure the codec you've just downloaded and the same error message pops up. You can't stream specific video files, broadcast your own webcam -- anything. The software is basically unusable (for me, at least; and I've tested this on two computers). I'm thoroughly disappointed (and frustrated) with this new update and I hope shining morning takes the steps to make this software what it once was.
