"if you just need to open those pesky .sit files, do this"

    July 10, 2008  |   By sadchild

mysmithmicro now owns stuffit and gives you the big runaround trying to find the free expander, constantly shoving their trial version down your throat when all you want is to open the darn stuffit files.

    do this:

    1. go to

    2. use the pull-down under windows on the right to select "Free Stuffit Expander 12 (.exe) Expansion Only.

this will save you from their endless attempts to confuse you into downloading their trial version or get sucked into their 'get the deluxe version free by going to our partner sites' baloney.
