    "Excellent free program"

    August 28, 2013  |   By rj-work

As a long-time daily user of Total Commander (my favourite piece of software - 5 stars & faultless), I really like the natural concept of double-pane file processing. FreeCommander also has this, and is almost a direct copy of Total Commander so in this sense I would give FreeCommander a very high score.

I gave FreeCommander a fairly good try-out and if Total Commander didn't exist I would give FreeCommander 4.5 stars. However in several minor ways I found differences, and a few things missing; also I didn't notice anything making FC better than TC so I cannot give FC the maximum rating. I thus rate FC 3.5 (to 4) stars.

An excellent piece of software on the test I gave it, but I like the "look & feel" of Total Commander slightly better. Also I think TC has 1 or 2 extra features which I use, which seem to be missing in FC.
