"A destructive monster of an anti-virus"

Started off fine in the beginning, but now I cannot get rid of it.
It used to be good when it was very simple, like 1.0-2.0 era.Cons
Corrupted, cannot force delete off computer. Cannot shut off self-defense mode. Safe mode on windows 7 mysteriously dissapeared during start up. Cannot uninstall, slows and lag down my computer. The virus scan takes 10X longer than other programs. Annoying pop-ups to buy the pro-version. I cannot even download and install the newest Avast just for the sake of uninstalling the old version. I am very mad that I cannot uninstall.
Other anti-viruses are finding malware that this one cannot detect!Summary
On my second computer; blocked some of my steam games from operating. Force closed and quit, and it somehow runs in the background and blocks .exe files of Steam games. Ironically, this "anti-virus" works like a virus itself. This is a terrible piece of garbage.
Note: I used the built-in uninstaller, but the program file still exists and is completely full. I cannot uninstall because it is in self-defense mode. Self-defense check box in the settings does not work. Cannot even get to "safe mode" because it mysteriously dissapeared. Avast is the only program popping up with strange errors. Typically not a problem because I can force uninstall, but the self defense mod protects its files. This is absolutely crazy, die Avast!!!!

I would also add that Windows 7 comes with a full disk imaging program. Do you use it? Do you backup your pc onto an external HDD? If you did then all you would need to do is mount a new image and presto.............Your back like new. Its that easy. Dont blame Avast for your downfalls.

Seriously...............From what you wrote you have more then 1 antivirus installed. YOU CANNOT RUN MORE THEN ONE ANTIVIRUS AT ANY GIVEN TIME. On demand scanners such as MBAM and SAS are different. Most problems occur cause people do not fully uninstall there previous antivirus. Or they are using a 3rd party firewall. I have installed Avast 7on over 300 computers for my customers.Not one issue.Your problem is easily resolved by doing a system restore prior to uninstalling Avast. You can also download the Avast uninstaller. Its that easy.
