If your have Mac OS lion, DO NOT INSTALL Sophos Ver 8.0.1c. I think something wrong with this program. When you try to scan "Local Drive", it is soooooooo slow or
it just will not finish the scan. Make sure you read all bad comments about this new Ver 8 from "SophosFree Talk Community".

I am looking the link for Ver 7 (old one) to reinstall. Anyone know that Ver 7 link ?

Update: Per Sophos personnel:
There is a known issue with the 8.0.1 release where Scan Local Drives will take longer to run. It will finish, but it goes very slowly when scanning a hidden directory on 10.7 systems.

There are a few things you can do:

1. just wait - it shouldn't really affect system performance although it will take a lot longer to scan
2. try adding an on-access exclusion (in preferences) to skip scanning "/.DocumentRevisions-V100" - its a hidden directory so press Cmd-Shift-. (period)
3. set up a scheduled scan so you can scan your drives overnight
4. downgrade to 7.3.

So, we need to wait........ Version 7.3 is works GREAT and it is five stars!

Ver 8.0.4C should be FIVE STARS !!! Best Mac OS Anti-Virus Program

I use MacAir w/Lion OX and I think the Sophos Home Edition (free) is the best Mac OS Anti-Virus program. I did not like Ver 8.0.1C, but I think they fixed many issues by Ver 8.0.4C. For example, Sophos took only 25 minutes to scan for over 500K files.

If you have any problem on Sophos, you post your issue to "SophosFreeTalk" and normally Sophos employee or other personnel with expert on Sophos reply within a day.

Also, I learned that Sophos Home Edition will have a new version when the Mountain Lion releases.
