"Did not stop viruses, update destroyed Windows OS"

    January 25, 2012  |   By techismybiz

    It's free.

A few viruses blew right past this product including the dreaded "you system is infected with a virus" thing that basically locks out our computer from all programs and the net, unless you are willing to let the fake scan do its thing and totally screw up your system.
I had to use Malwarebytes, Spybot, and Microsoft virus fix, to get my system back on several occasions, after a virus slipped past this product.
When I would scan with those products, I would usually find malware that went past the virus shield of Avast and that was happily doing its thing on my hard drive.
One more thing, an update totally destroyed my hard drive and I had to reinstall everything. I was totally PO'd at that.
Not good in protecting your system in my opinion.
Bascially I think this software is junk.

Would not pay money for this. I uninstalled it about 6 months ago.
