"Takes over browser search. Forced browser uninstall"

    July 13, 2011  |   By onlyauser

Not one. Even the fact that it's free no longer matters. It is that bad.

AVG Search takes over your browsers. AVG is so bad that to remove the AVG search from Firefox 5 requires a complete uninstall/re-install. Avoid at all costs.

AVG high-jacks browser settings without permission. AVG search is horrid to get rid of...like herpes-as another X-user put it.

    Hello onlyauser,

please be informed that you can disable set up of "AVG Search" as default search provider during new AVG installation. We are aware about situation, when you are upgrading your AVG product with already active AVG Toolbar, the AVG Search is enabled by default because of one mistake, which should be fixed in next product version (or small update).

Else please discuss any situation with us at CNET AVG Forum or AVG Free Forum.

    Thank you
