    "good but needs imporved..."

    May 11, 2011  |   By jeremys18

One of the best FREE anti-virus scanners out there. Catches things others dont.

It DIDNT catch the win 7 antivirus, virus.
    Updates twice a day (annoying).
Doesn't make a lot of noise when a virus is found (like it used to). When a virus is found I want to know about it and I want to know right then and there.

updates way to often now, needs to go back to the warnings it had before and doesnt catch the win 7 virus (even after a full system scan). Needs improvement on blocking the virus from being download in the first place (when you say a connection should be aborted, then abort it. Dont let it continue downloading the virus.) Also the real time shield needs improved (it should have detected the virus was running and shut it down).

in all, its a good scanner, just needs major improvements. I wouldn't pay for the pro. ver. yet.

I used to hate that lady that came on too, but I learned you can turn her off in the settings =)

Thats because the Win 7 issue is not a virus it's a Malware from a web bug and it's not a malware scanner. You need a Malware Scanner to catch malware... duh!

Dude you are dumb... Just because there is something on your computer that causes problems doesnt NOT make it a virus... a virus is a self duplicating file that infects your computer.

"win 7 antivirus 2011" is a trojan or aka MALWARE. Avast and other antiVIRUSES, are for VIRUSES!! derp derp derp....

Avast does have real time shields that help block malware, but it is not what it scans for....

If you want antimalware, get malwarebytes free version, then you can use avast for realtime shields and viruses, and use malwarebytes to scan/remove malware....

Thank you for bringing down the rating of avast because your an idiot...
