  "Generally an excellent problem"

  Pros

  Catches viruses as folders are opened most of the time. Site ratings in Google are a good feature. Overall I've been very happy with it and would recommend it.

  Cons

  Lately, I' get a message that says that the real time monitor isn't running because the database is outdated.An outdated database s better than no AV. Then when you update the database, it won'tstart the realtime monitor and a reboot is necessary.

  Summary

  I've had it for years, since Avira got locked in with Zone Alarm to where they would just fight over scanning files and nothing else was getting done, when no sscans were running. AVG was an excellent choice for me. I like the Google ratings feature a lot and overall am very impressed with the free product. Most of the time, it works very well and unobtrusively.I'm talking about the free version only. I prefer point best-of-breed point solutions to one-package solutions.
