"Will slow down your machine - not for notebooks"

    August 17, 2009  |   By jaffreywali

free, better than Norton, comfort of having an antivirus...

    - slow down start ups
    -slow down connecting to wifi
-some applications may not work as efficiently
-greatly diminish a laptops overal user experience because of all the slowness.

I've found that both AVG and Norton are not worth the trouble of installing on a laptop. They really slow down the start up process. I have found that Windows defender + auto updates from Microsoft + ccleaner takes care of my malicious software issues plus basic tuning.

I think most people with laptops would be better off to stay away from most of the current anti virus software. If you use common sense in your web browsing you'll be fine. IF you do get a virus you can use windows restore to go back to a previous point.
