"Avira AntiVir Free; mostly so-so"
Pros
Pros: It's free, it works in the background (mostly) It's a smaller package than AVG.
Cons
That pesky pop-up that announces it's done it's job. It doesn't scan e-mail ( I thought that's where most of the virus comes in). You can't even force it to scan e-mail. It seems to scan at it's own schedule rather than the one I assigned.
Summary
Frankly, I thought AVG was better but it stopped working properly so I switched. As soon as the subscription to Norton runs out om my other computers I'll be switching back there.

You should try avast!,it's very good..no pop-ups,automatic updates and a good 98,2 detection rate.The only av u install and forget about.
